Robert "Bob" Bosley, right, the owner and founder of Diamond Head Sprinkler Supply began his career in irrigation as a stock person at Kern Turf Supply in Bakersfield, California in 1957. While vacationing in Hawaii with his wife and children, he noticed a great opportunity for an irrigation business in the islands. After returning home, Bob's vision became a reality as he packed up his family and moved to the island of Oahu, leaving behind a successful irrigation contracting business. Thus, in 1967 Diamond Head Sprinkler was founded and a legacy of service in the irrigation industry was born in the Hawaiian Islands.

Bob began to import various types of sprinklers and related items to the islands for his own use as a contractor.  During those early years, a local merchant distributed only the Buckner irrigation product line. Wanting to offer his customers more variety and options Bob introduced the products that he had become familiar with in California. Thus Rain Bird, Toro, Griswold and Champion and even PVC pipe and fittings became more readily available through Bob and his company.  Soon after the introduction of the products, he began receiving inquiries from gardeners, homeowners, and other contractors about being able to purchase these supplies from him.

Another chapter in the history of the company began with the opening of Diamond Head Sprinkler Supply, located in Honolulu on Waimanu Street in a 1000 square foot building. After years of success in contracting, Bob strategically moves on and focuses his energies on his supply business to bring the company to what it is today.

The company currently has three locations in which to service its ever-growing clientele.  Each location has its own style, flavor and décor.  The main headquarters is located on Waimanu Street several blocks west of the original location.  Bob, an avid antique collector furnished this store with some of his most prized collectables and has even been registered with National Geographic Traveler as “the most interesting place to purchase sprinklers”.  The Pearl City store is located on Waihona Street in the Pearl City Industrial Park.  This store was designed with function and efficiency in mind.  Its large spacious aisles provide ease of movement and ample room for the extensive stock that needs to be inventoried for the large contracts across the State.  The newest location in Kona on the Island of Hawaii has a distinct Big Island laid back feeling.  Each location has been designed to cater to the needs of its particular clientele with an emphasis on efficient and friendly service (Aloha is spoken here).

Bob has surrounded himself with a talented pool of professionals that is unsurpassed in any irrigation distribution company in Hawaii.  Collectively, they have more than 185 years of experience, 47 of which are contributed by Bob alone.  The hallmark of Diamond Head Sprinkler Supply has always been the personal value-added service that is provided to landscape architects, land-planners, developers, landscape contractors, homeowners and associations. The company oversees, and runs hands on training classes and workshops in the various aspects of irrigation and landscape for the local Landscape Industry Council and for the general public through the University of Hawaii and the Outdoor Circle. Other services include consultation, planning, on-site warranty service and free delivery.
